Explain first. Persuade never.
The project covers topics — elections, citizenship, rights and public systems — where trust matters. The editorial goal is to make information understandable without quietly telling the reader what political or personal conclusion to reach.
Source hierarchy
- Law and official primary sources when a legal rule or official procedure is being described.
- Authorities and official statistics for administrative guidance, dates and numbers.
- Official party material when describing what a political party says it wants.
- Original research/pollsters when reporting surveys, with dates and context.
- Secondary reporting only when it adds useful context and the primary source is unavailable or insufficient.

Elections
Sweden Votes 2026 does not endorse, rank, recommend or oppose political parties or candidates.
- Party positions should come from the party’s own current manifesto or official policy pages.
- Opinion polls must identify the pollster and field dates and should not be presented as election results.
- Issue importance and party support are different things and must not be mixed.
- Explanations of municipality, region and national powers should rely on institutional sources.
- No paid political placement or sponsored editorial content is accepted under the current non-commercial model.
Citizenship test material
Practice questions and explanations are independently written. They are not official UHR exam questions and are not approved by UHR. When material is based on Sverige i fokus, the project should link back to UHR and clearly identify the source edition where practical.
News and updates
The updates section exists for useful changes, not for publishing volume. A short factual note is better than a constant feed.
- Use the date the event happened as well as the publication date when they differ.
- Label preliminary information as preliminary.
- Prefer a fresh primary source for time-sensitive claims.
- Meaningful corrections should be visible rather than silently rewritten.
Use of AI
AI tools may be used to help brainstorm, structure, translate, draft or check consistency. They are not treated as factual sources. Important factual claims should be checked against the sources appropriate to the topic.
AI assistance does not remove editorial responsibility: the person running the project remains responsible for what is published.
The one-person constraint is part of the policy
Coverage is deliberately selective. The absence of an article does not signal that an issue is unimportant. A full-time job exists outside this project, so editorial priorities are roughly: serious factual errors and security → time-sensitive official changes → useful evergreen improvements → feature ideas.
Conflicts and future funding
If the project later receives money, services, sponsorship or other material support from an organisation connected to a topic it covers, that relationship should be disclosed prominently. Editorial content should never be sold without being clearly labelled.
